The distribution of E. coli O157:H7 shedding over time after the inoculation of 6-week-old lambs either (A) rectally or (B) orally with approximately 1 × 10¹⁰ CFU. All data points shown are from direct plating only. E. coli O157:H7 was not detected from the faeces of lamb 21 during the fourteen day sampling period. Samples where no E. coli O157:H7 growth was detected after enrichment are not shown.
